I'm sorry to have to report that two of the founders of SofTech, Doug Ross and Clare Feldmann, have died, Clare on December 14, 2006 and Doug on January 31, 2007. Their names and dates above link to their obituaries in the Boston Globe, with a guest book that you can sign. A longer obituary of Doug is here. If you'd like to say a few words about Doug or Clare or relate some memory of them, please use either the Guest Book on the Globe site or the rumors mechanism here. I'd suggest longer entries should be here. This site is unmaintained and out-of-date, but I'll update it with your remembrances. Pictures would be very welcome.

For most of us, the time we spent working at SofTech was a special and unique part of our careers. The people were great, the work was interesting and challenging, the facilities were much better than the current cubicle madness, and even management was often bearable.

SofTech is gone now, though the corporate name survives on a company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan and doing business in manufacturing technology. They don't even use the capital "T" in the name anymore.

We hope that this site will help SofTechers catch up with and keep in touch with old friends. Please click on  Questionnaire  and tell us about yourself; the results will appear in the  Alumni Update  pages. Then click on  Rumors  and tell us what you've heard, or on  Message Board  to join the discussion "Doug Ross: Certifiable Genius, or Just Certifiable?" (or start another topic). In addition to those functions, the menu on the left can be used to access the last-known  E-Mail Addresses  of your fellow alumni, an  In Memoriam  list of alumni known to have died, and a general search function.

We are looking for machine-readable logos.
